Apprentice Work Poem.

Apprentice Work Poem.

I te wa pouri i te tangata
In the human darkness time
I te wa pouri i te tangata
In the human darkness time
I te wa pouri i te tangata
Tena te poroporoaki nui
That was the great goodbye

“Let them go into factories”
said the Riding Crop the Whip
& Wear the masks of Marx
& Wear the mark of Marx

Weld their poems from copper coils
Weld the collective kaupapa well
Boil the steel and flay the rails
& wait for the blow to fall

At the Dawn Raid At the Pre-Dawn Raid
What will the Giants in Dark Blue say:
“No hea koe? No hea koe? No hea?”
“Where are you from? Where are you from? From Where?”
